Summary

This process is in a state of continual improvement. There are many ways in which the process is not yet seamless. See future plans.

However, the process is already realizing many benefits here at LaRC. For example:

• time savings in that only one model need be developed for both thermal and structural analysis
• model accuracy in that model is imported directly from design software
• time savings in that model is imported directly from design software and does not need to be re-built
• increased capability in the ease of calculating exact deflections due to predicted thermal distributions
• capability to translate deflections to optical analysis
