System Integration and Test Branch Cleanliness Measurements Lab / 10-15-02

Test, Measurements and Analysis capabilities:

1. Surface molecular film non-volatile residue (NVR) gravimetric and chemical measurements (i.e. both quantitative).

2. Hardware surface particle contamination measurements (i.e. Number of particles and particle size)

3. Outgassing/Offgassing of materials and hardware (i.e.vacuum outgassing with subsequent condensation; and, solvent extraction for gravimetric and chemical analysis).

4. Space flight hardware, cleanroom, and test facility cleaniness monitoring on-site and off-site by various witness plate programs.

5. Solar absorbance and thermal emmittance measurements.

6. Fourier Transform Inferred (FTIR), Mass Spectroscopy (MS), and Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EM-EDS) chemical analysis.

7. Space flight hardware contamination analysis and reporting.

8. Low magnification (10x - 40x) and high magnification (40x - 500x) bright-field and dark-field microscopy and microphotography.
